John C. Chestnut Park near Oldsmar is also a wonderful place for children to play.  The park provides a fully equipped giant playground and sheltered picnic tables scattered throughout the park.  Beach volleyball enthusiasts can play on one of the Beach courts set up within the park area.   Winding walkways and bike trails line the park, and a boat ramp is available for convenient access to Lake Tarpon.  Nature and wildlife surrounds the park grounds and make for a wonderful backdrop for photos and memories.  Both parks are free of charge and open at sunrise and close at sunset.

Oldsmar recently built a family sports complex which features a BMX course and skateboarding park.  The park now provided a new sound system, seating and brilliant lighting make being a part of the action enjoyable for all spectators.  Football, baseball, basketball games can be played here, and many sport teams from the local area practice and compete at this complex called Canal Sports Park. 

The beaches available near Oldsmar include Honeymoon Island, and a short ferry ride will take you to the famous Caladesi Island.
